BCONNECTED
Christine Leja
PALMA DE MALLORCA / SPAIN
Passion – honesty – courage
When Christine Leja founded bconnected architecture & design in the late 1990s, her intention was to operate on a global scale. The link between architecture and design lies in her blood, which made it easier for her and her team to meet the needs of their clients and fulfill their dreams. The highly regarded projects the company has executed for numerous private and business clients over the past twenty years could not be more varied. And yet they are all inspired by the same unmistakable spirit: a combination of passion, sincerity, and courage has allowed bconnected, with Christine Leja at its helm, to become one of the leading global architecture and design firms.
A former ruin, consisting originally of four apartments in the heart of Santa Catalina on Mallorca, was restored and transformed into a unique family home. While the original facade has remained more or less intact, modern and spacious rooms have been created in the interior.
“Creating a home and nurturing a lifestyle is important” – this is the motto of Christine Leja and her team. This project’s planning phase proved to be a major challenge, but it gave bconnected architecture & design the opportunity to think big and, above all, to cultivate its uniqueness.
Christine Leja sees design as a tool with which to link the past with the future. In this house in Santa Catalina, for example, floors made purely of cement have been finished according to ancient tradition and tiles and furniture custome-made by craftspeople
