TIME FOR SOME OF THAT FRESH AUTUMN AIR
Architecture Art Bconnectedmallorca Exclusive Interior Design Investment Real Estate Secret MarketingWe have arrived at that special time of year, when the temperatures drop but the sun keeps on shining. These are the days when we are more motivated to get outside, smell the fresh autumn air and do some more active activities. Mallorca has some of the most picturesque landscapes imaginable that you can find walking up the hills or coastline. Whether you are looking for a peaceful walk with your kids or a mountainous hike up through the highest mountain in Mallorca, the island has everything! And nothing beats the fresh air in our lungs that comes after a long over heated summer to make you feel refreshed.
Hiking is one of the most popular outdoor activities that we have on the island thanks to the many beautiful locations that it has to offer, therefore we wanted to share a few of our favourite spots that you cannot miss this season.

The coastal pathway from Deia to Soller. This route is one of the prettiest there is, thanks to the high cliff edges and panoramic views out to sea all along the coast. On the way you might come across wild goats or donkeys who want to say hello. You can choose to go stop off at picturesque spots such as the Mirador de Son Marroig, which is where many people take a break to admire the spectacular cliff of Sa Foradada with a large heart shaped hole in the middle of it. In the summer months there is a café here where you can have a quick drink and snack, and soak in the atmosphere. Or you could take an extra hike down to the water’s edge, which takes around an hour and you’ll find the restaurant Sa Foradada which with some fresh fish and paella you’ll have a complete Mediterranean experience. Sunset is one of the best times of days for this spot and people come congregate here to enjoy time with friends and family whilst watching the sun disappear over the sea, it is truly an unforgettable experience.

Another breath-taking experience is to wander up to the ruins of Alaró castle that sit at the top of Puig d’Alaró. A medium level hike but can get rather steep in areas! However 100% worth it once you reach the top and look out over the Tramuntana range and a large part of the island also looking out to sea from various points. The impressive ruins have been there since the Moorish period covering almost the entire mountain top.
Last but not least is another one of our favourites, Sa Dragonera! You will need to catch a ferry boat across from Sant Elm to experience this very Mediterranean hike that takes you up route of this declared natural park since 1995. After 20 minutes by boat, which is an experience in itself crossing the turquoise waters, you reach an island off of Sant Elm with excellent hiking opportunities. There are various routes you can choose, from 30 minutes to 3 hour hikes but we recommend you get the full experience! There aren’t any cafés or stores on the island so best take a sandwich picnic in a backpack, but this is all part of the fun as you enjoy a true nature involved day. If you are lucky, you might catch sight of a dolphin off of the shore! If you’re famished, you can stop for lunch in the bay of Sant Elm. There are a wide selection of Mallorcan and Mediterranean restaurants, such as Restaurant Es Moli, one that’s been around for decades and is popular amongst the locals as well as visitors.
