Architecture Art Bconnectedmallorca Exclusive Interior Design Investment Real Estate Secret MarketingWe are going through a very strange and unknown situation. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, we are all in isolation from each other and have taken our work duties home with us. We know that this is a very new experience for lots of us and can be quiet stressful to come to terms with and feel organized. Within our bconnected team, we are managing well with our new work stations. We feel more connected as ever as we support each other through all of this as a family. Online communications have never been more helpful, as we have established our daily meetings and regular video conferences throughout the day to manage our load. We are still very accessible through email or phone if you have any questions.
Due to these circumstances, we thought it would be a great opportunity to share our tips and tricks to staying sane while working from home as well as creating a beautiful work zone to stay centered! With some inspiration from our beloved team!
GET OUT OF BED
One of the most important things to do is not to treat your every day like a weekend. Create a morning “work” routine to get your mind in the right mode. Set your alarm to wake up at your usual time that you would for work and get ready for the day. As tempting as it is to take your laptop to bed, it is much more productive to set yourself up on a desk and feel as if it is time for work rather than time to lie in bed. It makes a huge difference, trust us.

DRESS FOR THE OCCASION
So you’re not going into the office, why not stay in our pyjamas all day long? No. Just like staying in bed sets the mind-frame to a relaxed state, staying on your pjs can do the same. Clean yourself up and put some comfortable but appropriate work clothes on to make you feel like you’re ready to get down to business. This is motivation like you can’t believe. Your body then knows that it is time to work not get cosy.
CREATE YOUR IDEAL WORKSPACE
This is the part we love the most! Where we can use our creative heads to design our workspace just as we like it, from desk material to colour, to mouse-pad and desk plant. Take inspiration from online photos or pinterest to find your ideal look and feel.
The standard office workspace is bland, harsh lighting and basic materials and decoration, how about adding a warm cosy lamp, with some indoor plant next to it and perhaps a candle to set the ambience.
Choosing a chair is also an important decision, one that fits the design of the room as well as one that’s comfortable for your back and posture.
TAKE BREAKS
We know that we are only allowed outside if we have dogs or to go to the supermarket. So it’s important to take break rituals within our homes. Whether this is a short yoga sequence, making a cup of tea or painting/writing, there is so much we can do within our homes. The list is endless, especially with the internet available, we can exercise from online videos, follow tutorials, learn something! What are your goals for this quarantine?
STAY MOTIVATED WITH LISTS
Checking off goals throughout the day can keep your mind motivated and eager to get on with each task. This not only motivates you for the work you need to do but also for life/home admin or future goals and so on that can keep you ambitious and motivated while we’re in this current situation.
Lists are also a great way to keep track and remember all your to do’s as our heads can easily get distracted when at home with family around, or news that we’re catching up on. Write everything down, trust us, it will do wonders.
COLLABORATION
It can get pretty lonely when working from home but continues to involve interacting with others through email, decision making, group assignments. Therefore it’s important to set up methods to help stay connected. Video conferencing is a great method of having face to face contact with your colleagues, it can help a lot with collaboration and saves having to send loads of emails with questions throughout the day which can quickly clog up one’s inbox. Best to make time for a daily, face to face meeting and get everything out and organised for the upcoming day. This can also be very effective for brain-storming.
Some great apps for staying organised within a team, whilst all working remotely are SLACK and Google Hangouts.
STAY CALM & CONNECTED
Most important, in this very unusual time, we need to keep ourselves sane. Calm our anxiety and stay positive, not to give in to fear.
These next few weeks will test all of our mental health so any opportunity to make it easier, we should take.
It’s good to stay informed but might be an idea to keep the news updates limited so that it doesn’t eat away at our minds and overwhelm us. Make a point to reach out to those close to your heart to check on them as we all manage self-isolation in a different way and you never know who might need a friendly chat.
We’ve got this! We are all in this together and need to support each other.
